Yn Chruinnaght tickets go on sale!
Seven glorious days of Celtic music, dance and song
The programme for the 2011 Yn Chruinnaght Inter- Celtic Festival has now been confi rmed. With an exciting line-up including Irish-Breton supergroup Guidewires, Scottish Gaelic songstress Maeve MacKinnon and Cornish dance group Kemysk, there’s something for everyone. Welsh crwth player, Cass Meurig, will be giving a lecture-recital as well as a performance in St John’s Church alongside Breton duo Thomas Moisson and Lors Landat. There’s a healthy mix of free and ticketed events throughout the Island - Peel, Ramsey, St Johns and Douglas. The week kicks off with a visit from Celtic royalty - Capercaillie - at the Villa Marina in Douglas. Special guest groups who’ve joined the programme alongside talented Manx musicians, singers and dancers include young Irish group Mo Chara and Appalachian dance group Shoostring.
