Last month’s KMJ newsletter had the breaking news that Ny Jinnyn had just lost out on first place in the Pan-Celtic Song Contest by one mark! Their original song, Sy Ghrianane, was very well received, as the judges’ marks proved. The band is pictured here in Dingle. Ny Jinnyn promoted the Island heavily while in Ireland, playing for dancing, at the Manx night and around the festival. Pan-Celtic delegate, Fiona McArdle, thanked the IOM Arts Council and Manx Heritage Foundation for their support. If you want to enter next year’s Arrane son Mannin competition which selects the song to represent the Island, the Cooish dates are 1-8 October, so get your song-writing hats on! If you need help with a translator, email Fiona McArdle
