Year 5 students from Cronk y Berry Primary School in Douglas are the latest mini musicians to complete the 6 week whole-class course on the Manx tin whistle.
'Feddan' (Manx Gaelic for whistle) is an easy scheme of work ideal for beginners of all ages, which uses teach the basics of music through Manx tunes, Gaelic language and easy notation. Over 1000 youngsters (and some adult learners!) have now had a go at playing an instrument through this course, designed by Culture Vannin in conjunction with the Isle of Man Music Service. There is even a special 'Feddan' competition in the Manx Folk Awards (March)
