‘Celtic Concerts’, ‘Manx Concerts’ or concerts of ‘Manx National Music’, were popular from the late-1890s until the Second World War. Here is a brief description of the First Grand Concert of Manx National Music, which took place on Thursday January 7th, 1897, at the Grand Theatre, Douglas.
